Prior to the Great Flood, the largest elven population could be found on Handa’ksh. The elves there were mainly sun and moon elves who lived in small communities dotting the continent’s many valleys and forests. Elves, by their own nature, have always believed themselves the superior race. They have owned humans as slaves as far back as history records.
Problems arose in Handa’ksh when the trees and plants began inexplicably dying. Elves were losing not only their food sources, but also their homes. As their numbers began to dwindle, sightings of dark elves at the foothills of mountain ranges began. These strange, dark elves reported that they were driven to the surface by a strange disease that was poisoning their food and water sources. The light and dark elves, unwilling to appeal to other races for help, had no choice but to band together. The dark elves brought their knowledge of metal and stone, and the light elves supplied the slaves for building new homes that weren’t susceptible to the strange plague. It soon became evident that even the strongest of the humans couldn’t lift the heavy pieces of stone. That’s when the experiments began to breed creatures with the strength to build their new homes.
There were several families of sun elves who didn’t trust the dark elves. The sun elves worshipped the sun, while the dark elves couldn’t even behold it’s brilliance in the sky. The abominations the dark elves created were the last straw for the prodigious sun elves. They resolved to leave Handa’ksh and find another place where they could resume their life and flourish. Na ‘Dor seemed the perfect place, with it’s similar climate and already burgeoning ports. The sun elves could continue their slave trade, and the dwarves would be none the wiser. They could even export needed goods back to their cousins on Handa’ksh. Boarding crude ships in tattered clothes, the 7 most affluent families of sun elves made their voyage to Na’ Dor and successfully pleaded their cause to the Emperor.
Elves are self-centered and self-serving. They are the most-proficient magick uses among all the races, which is why many believe the Sorcerers of the Endarkened Sun are elven. On the evil scale, sun elves earn a muahahah. Moon elves earn a muahahahaha, and dark elves earn a whopping muahahahahahahaha.
